I believe (though can not guarantee) that if its new owner continues to hydrate the guitar with a case humidifier, the seam will close even tighter. After a few weeks in the case with a Planet Waves humidifier, the wood has closed almost completely and been glued, however you can still see the seam and feel a lip with your fingernail (see the final photo). When I got the guitar the front seam was starting to separate. The back and sides show less wear than the top, and the lighter Maple hides a lot of the imperfections. The top shows tons of checking and crazing. There are lots of pickmarks and scratches throughout. It comes in four colors natural, black, flat black, and Tennessee Red -it is of minimalistic, clean design, a personal favorite as well a concept very on-trend nowadays. The bad: The guitar has been played a lot. Looking Into The Seagull S6 Original Review The first thing to mention in this Seagull S6 review is that it is a beautiful 6 string instrument. The guitar is approaching vintage age, and as an early example of Seagull craftsmanship in a rare wood configuration, should only increase in value.
With the flamed maple sides and back, the guitar is a real looker. The action is just right and does not need any sort of neck adjustment. The maple tonewood gives the guitar a bright yet balanced sound that is loud without booming. Access to Acute: poor, without Dreadnought pan coupbr /> Analysis of a dreadnought, so not ideal.
Channel width (the seagull has) but you get done, it does not bother me at all. The neck is thick and chunky, so slim neck lovers should move on to another guitar. model 'deluxe' because it has a double binding. The good: The guitar plays smooth and easy. Seagull does not make a guitar like this now, and of all the S6 guitars I have come across in the used market, this is the first one I have ever seen in Maple. This is their flagship S6, which is the guitar that put Seagull on the map, with the standard Spruce Top, but flamed Maple Back and Sides. Seagull currently sells a cutaway flamed maple guitar.
